London is a city that is diverse. You can practically find any cuisine in this capital, and there are always restaurants that are popping up.

Megan’s at the Sorting Office – Angel, Islington

Boozy brunches are very popular in the UK, with many restaurants now serving prosecco with eggs. If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers you this kind of deal, then you should book a table at Megan’s at the Sorting Office in Angel, Islington.

The menu has a Turkish influence and has options such as Turkish breakfast for two and baked Shakshouka. There are also options that are trendy breakfasts such as coconut porridge and smashed avocado on toast. This restaurant is dog friendly and has amazing cocktails.

Nippon Izakaya – North Finchley

Japanese food is huge in the UK, especially London. There are a lot of Japanese restaurants that have great ramen, but Nippon Izakaya is one that is highly recommended.

The menu has a variety of traditional Japanese dishes including Omurice, Chicken Katsu curry, Donburi and of course a great selection of ramen.

You can get pork ramen with miso broth, or you can take it up a notch and get chicken ramen with spicy curry broth. They also serve green tea with roasted rice flavour.

Mamuska! – Waterloo

Located next to Waterloo Station is an Old Arch dining hall that is a restaurant and bar called Mamuska! Here you will find delicious traditional Polish dishes such as potato pancakes, Pierogi dumplings, Bigos Polish stew and Schabowy.

They also have incredible cocktails with Polish vodka being the main star of the show, as well as scrumptious desserts.

This restaurant is women-led and is LGBTQ-friendly.

El Pollote – Camden Street food market

Sometimes it’s hard to find good fried chicken, because the breast can be too dry, the skin could be too hard or the flavours are just bland.

But at El Pollote you won’t be disappointed. It has even won awards for its mouthwatering Latin fried chicken and the Guava Glazed fried chicken will make you cry with happiness. It has the right amount of heat, zing and tang that you need for flavour, and the skin is crisped to perfection.

Meat Head – Camden Street food market

If you’re looking for hearty, filling and flavourful tacos that will turn you into a messy eater, then you should stop by Meat Head in Camden.

Just one of these tacos will satisfy you, especially the chicken chipotle one. You also get creamy guacamole on the side and a tangy tomato sauce to dip your taco into.

Ramo Ramen – Kentish Town

In London you will find a lot of fusion restaurants and a great one to visit is Ramo Ramen. Here you will find delicious Filipino-Japanese street food, such as baked vegetable gyoza with creamy, cheesy bechamel sauce on top, and chicken adobo ramen.

However, the restaurant is small and can get busy on the weekends, so it’s best to visit on a weekday when it’s quieter. The meat is halal.

Golden Dragon – Colindale and China Town

When it comes to Chinese food, it can be hard to find one that really ticks all the boxes. There is China Town in London, where you are overwhelmed with choices and there is your local Chinese restaurant in your area that would be okay for a Friday night takeaway. But Golden Dragon is a restaurant that you need to visit in order to have the ultimate dining experience for Chinese food.

Each dish will tickle your taste buds and the size of the dishes are your money’s worth. They have a great dim sum selection, such as the Cantonese dish Cheung Fan and you can find traditional Sichuan dishes such as Mapo Tofu, as well as popular dishes such as beef in black bean sauce.

Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream – Soho

Filipino Street food is rapidly becoming popular in London and Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream is a spot that is always busy.

They serve traditional and modern Filipino sweet desserts, including their award winning toasted Pandesal ice cream called Bilog that comes in flavours such as pistachio. They also serve doughnuts with a creamy and vibrant Ube filling inside.

Dionysus – Southgate

The Cypriot cuisine is very popular in London, especially because some areas in this city such as Southgate and Palmers Green are populated with Greeks and Cypriots.

That’s why it’s quite common to see Greek and Cypriot kebab shops in North London, and Dionysus is one that stands out.

This small yet busy restaurant serves homemade traditional Cypriot dishes such as Louvi, Trahana soup, Sheftalies and of course, Cypriot Souvlakia. It is recommended to try the mixed souvlakia, where you get pork/chicken and Sheftalies. You can also get grilled Halloumi cheese, which is from Cyprus and is the national dish loved by many all over the world.

Taiyakiya – Soho

Even though it’s very common to find Japanese restaurants that serve savoury dishes, it’s not as common to find dessert spots that sell Japanese desserts.

Taiyakiya is located in Soho and it is a tiny dessert shop that sells traditional red bean paste Taiyaki, as well as modern twists such as the mermaid ice cream with Taiyaki as a cone.
