Here is a short guide to Perdika and Moni Eginas

Perdika is located in Aegina, Greece and it is a Greek island that is an hour away from Pireaus, by ferry. Perdika is a scenic village that has an array of fish restaurants and hidden spots for swimming. It is a 20 minute bus ride from Aegina town, which only costs 3 euros for both ways. You can also get a taxi there and back, from whichever part of Aegina you are coming from.

However, what most people don’t know is, that there is a boat that takes you on a 10 minute ride to a majestic island opposite Perdika. The ride is 5 euros for both ways and this picturesque island is called Moni Eginas.

People visit Moni Eginas because of the calm, clear, blue waters and because there are wild deer, goats and peacocks that are very friendly. Not only that, but it is the perfect island to go exploring into the woods that it has and view some of the most beautiful sightings that there is.

There is also a little canteen that has been set up there, so that you do not feel completely excluded from mankind. They serve drinks and food and have sun beds. When you go to Moni Eginas, you have to make sure that you wear comfortable shoes or slippers, since the ground is very pebbly. You can leave to go back to Perdika at any time, since the boat that takes you there comes and goes often.

When you go to Perdika, you will see that just by the port there are beautifully decorated houses and restaurants all nestled together. As you walk by the restaurants, you will see fresh octopus hanging in front of grills, as chefs are cooking and grilling fresh fish and seafood for their customers.

As you go deeper into the village, you will notice that there are a lot of hill tops and more pastel coloured houses. There is also another side which you would need to explore, that has a calm sea for you to have a quick swim in. In this sea, there are also sea creatures such as crabs and cray fish, which you might be lucky enough to interact with. The locals are very friendly and will make you feel welcomed as you explore their village.
