You can find Loukoumades anywhere in Greece, but there are just some places that the locals love going back to and Krinos is one of them.
As you step inside you will feel like the dessert parlour has frozen in time; since the decor has a 90’s vibe to it.
However, that’s what makes it so great because it has that comforting feeling of casual dining; which is what makes it feel authentic.
When you look around, you will notice that the majority of people are sitting alone, as they are temporarily escaping society and pausing for a moment; just so they can enjoy something that will bring them joy.
Krinos has been open since 1923 and have had the same recipe ever since. That is what makes their Loukoumades so popular.
They are crunchy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. You can have them the classic way which is with alot of honey and cinammon.
You can additionally add walnuts which add that extra crunch, or have them with a modern twist, which is with chocolate.
They don’t only sell Loukoumades, but also bougatsa and other pies. However, the bougatsa is what stands out the most because of the thick density of cream layered in between the flaky phyllo pastry.
You can also get soft served ice cream in vanilla or chocolate flavour, that can be accompanied with your Loukoumades.
They also do Greek traditional coffee, which can bring you the full Greek experience all together with your dessert.
