Easy Recipe: Mac & Cheese

This comfort food can be made anytime during the week. It’s an easy recipe to follow.

Ingredients:

250g elbow macaroni

150g butter

2 cups of all purpose flour

500ml semi skimmed milk

1 Tbsp mustard

Salt

Pepper

Dried thyme

250g shredded gouda or strong cheddar cheese

Method:

Step.1: Boil the pasta according to the packet. Once it has become Al dente, drain and let it cool.

Step. 2: Heat the butter and flour on a medium-high heat and whisk until it forms into a roux. Meanwhile, heat the oven 200 degrees.

Step. 3: Add the milk and continue whisking really fast, until it turns into a thick sauce.

Step. 4: Add the mustard, dried thyme, salt, pepper and cheese into the sauce. Stir all together slowly and then add the pasta.

Step. 5: Add the mac and cheese into an ovenproof shallow baking tray and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
