1. Dosirak

Sitting in the heart of central Athens is an authentic Korean and Japanese restaurant called Dosirak. The menu has a wide range selection of traditional dishes from both cuisines, served both hot and cold.

One dish that is a must try is Bibimbap, which in translation in Korean means ‘mixed rice’. Not only is it a beautiful visual of different and familiar ingredients put together, but it has all the nutrients to get a boost for the day.

A typical filling in the bowl has warm white rice topped with namul (vegetables) and gochujang (chilli pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang (a fermented bean paste). It can also be served with meat and a fried egg on top, just like they serve it at Dosirak!

2. Harvest Coffee & Wine

Harvest offers an all day brunch menu from different cuisines, which allows you to indulge on anything that you crave. However, if you wanted something lighter, they offer refreshing salads that are both healthy and filling. They also pair up well with their selection of wine, incase you wanted to have a boozy brunch.

If you wanted to skip brunch and just get your daily coffee intake, then head over to Harvest. Their coffee is made perfectly to wake you up from your grumpy self.

3. Koi Sushi Bar

You can definitely use brunch as an excuse to eat sushi. In fact, I don’t think any time of the day is wrong for sushi. If you’re not willing to have sashimi in the late morning leaning to lunch time then that’s okay; as there are healthy vegetarian options too.

Koi Sushi Bar has taken up a storm in Greece, with branches that have opened up in different area’s. The most popular hotspot is in central Athens and it is always bustling with happy customers enjoying their platter’s of sushi.

It is mainly focused on the Japanese cuisine with a constant change to the menu. They have a selection of hot and cold appetizers for you to tickle your taste buds; such as popcorn shrimp and dumplings. It is also the ideal brunch meal to have in the hot Mediterranean Summer, but also satisfying to give in to the craving in the cold winter.

4. Estrella

With an endless queue everyday and a huge love for their brunch, Estrella is the place to be. It also has branches in different area’s in Greece such as Thessaloniki, Crete, and the country Cyprus. In fact, the first original restaurant opened in Thessaloniki.

It is known for its ‘World Street Food’ as its menu is absolutely eccentric, classic and creative. There are so many choices to choose from that you’ll be wanting to stay there all day to try them all. From your everyday brunch choices such as an omelete with croissant, smoothie bowls or a club sandwich, to dishes with a twist such as the bagel burger, there is not a dish that they haven’t added onto their menu. They also have their own specially made pink mayonaise, that is out of this world.

There’s also a sweet section too, meaning you can happily enjoy their American style pancakes or waffles smothered in chocolate or peanut butter, topped with fruit, jam or ice cream.
