You will surely see some wildlife too such as penguins, dolphins, whales, seals and birds in their lush rain forests. Milford Sound is located in Fiordland National Park, which is one of the largest in New Zealand.

Fancy a thrilling experience? Why not go kayaking at Te Whanganui-A-Hei (Cathedral Cove). This incredible Marine Reserve is 2,100 acres wide and is also linked to Gemstone Bay and Stingray Bay. Just picture yourself being surrounded by nothing but the crystal blue cool waters, pale white sand and the hot sun shining in your face. Explore the large, deep cave that is an iconic spot for films and music videos such as Narnia. Familiarize yourself with the sea life, by doing water activities such as snorkelling or diving.

If you’re a fan of the ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’ films then it is vital to visit the Hobbiton Movie Set. This picturesque private farmland has been recreated to look exactly the same as the film sets. If you take the guided tour, you will be able to see features from the film set such as the Hobbit Holes, The Green Dragon Inn, The Mill and the double arched bridge. The director Peter Jackson first spotted the Alexander Farm as the ideal film location whilst he was doing an aerial search in New Zealand’s North Island in 1999.
