It’s bikini season and everyone is sweating it out in order to reach that goal of getting their ideal summer body. Exercise matters, but what mostly matters is what you put into your body to fuel you up! Eating three portions a day is vital, but everyone questions, “what are the best snacks to have in between?” Here is your answer, with the top five snacks that will fill you up and will keep that beautiful body of yours in shape!

1. Colourful, bright fruit

We all know fruit is super healthy, but we must be careful what fruit we indulge on. Some fruits have higher sugars than others, even though they can benefit in other ways such as being high in fiber. Fruits such as apples, melons, watermelons and grapefruit are great as they are low in sugar and can be quite filling.  If you want to give in to your cravings of the sweet stuff, but you don’t want to touch the cookie jar, then swap that cookie for a banana, peach or grapes.

2.  Whole raw Almonds

Almonds are very beneficial for your health. They’re good for your heart as they can help lower your blood cholesterol and can help you improve in weight loss! Not only are they beneficial for your health, but they’re beneficial for your skin too! Eat a handful of almonds a day and you’ll be glowing as well as feeling full and fabulous on the inside!

3. Green Tea

Swap your daily frappacuino for a nice cup of green tea. Two cups of green tea a day can help speed up your metabolism. It is a great antioxidant that helps cleanse your system, as well as burn fat.

4. Hummus and carrot sticks

Hands off the doritos and salsa! Trade it up with a healthier duo; hummus and carrot sticks. Whether you’re in the office, at a picnic or just snacking at home you can enjoy this tasty snack and not feel guilty at all! Hummus is a dip that is so rich in protein that it will fill you up, without you putting any weight on! Raw carrot sticks are the perfect partners in crime as they’re crunchy, tasty and low in calories.

5. Greek yoghurt

Put that tub of ice cream away and bring out the goodies; Greek yoghurt. Rich in protein, low in fat and sugar – what is there not to love? Enjoy this creamy goodness with any toppings at any time of the day! If you want to give it some extra sweetness, yet you still want to feel like a saint, then cut up some dark chocolate and almonds and sprinkle it on top!
